I am Julia Vossmann, founder of "Greta and PAUL," and I would like to tell you how a simple idea turned into a passion and eventually a business that makes my heart beat a little faster every day.

From an early age, I discovered my love for animals and a passion for aesthetics. However, the idea of combining these two passions into a brand came somewhat by chance and out of my own "necessity."

Our dogs are an integral part of our lives, especially Gretchen, who has been accompanying us everywhere for over 10 years.

In the beginning, she traveled in an impractical cat basket, lined with a soft cuddle blanket. But it quickly became clear that the bulky basket was not very practical for everyday use, so the cuddle blanket moved into one of my handbags – and with it, Gretchen. Since then, she has loved and lived in bags.

Over the years, I had many dog bags, but none could truly offer everything I wanted: comfort, durability, stylish design, and high-quality materials. The bags were often impractical, uncomfortable, or just didn't fit our lifestyle. The desire for a dog bag that would not only transport Gretchen comfortably but also meet all our needs grew stronger and stronger.

Then came the pivotal moment. At an event in Luhmühlen, I met my friend Johanna from CARLITOS handmade and spontaneously asked her if we could develop a dog bag for Gretchen together – a bag that would combine everything we had been missing in other models. Durability, timeless elegance, perfect craftsmanship, and materials that not only look good but can also withstand a lot. This is how the first Greta bag was created – handcrafted and unique.

I posted the first picture of the bag on Gretchen's Instagram account, and the response was overwhelming. Suddenly, many people wanted to know where the bag came from and if they could get one too. That's how "Greta and PAUL" came to life. From the very beginning, what made it special was that the brand developed in close collaboration with our community. Our customers made suggestions, shared ideas, and provided feedback on every little detail – what they were looking for in a dog bag or accessory, what was still missing, and how it could be improved.

Through this close connection with our customers, a vibrant community emerged that actively shapes our products. Every idea and piece of feedback contributes to the development and is reflected in our collection – from dog lovers for dog lovers.

The first dog bag quickly became much more: a whole concept that has established itself internationally. What once started as a "crazy idea" has now become a passion project that travels the world. Our dog bags, which are now cut with scissors from our own scissor manufactory and handcrafted by CARLITOS handmade, are now accompanying dogs and their humans across Europe, the USA, and even Australia. Each pouch is a statement of quality and craftsmanship and can be customized – with interchangeable inlays, stabilizing inserts, straps, and even a travel version.
